The Rebellion of... Planning for the Future

It’s that time of year again. The calendar is on its last page, and the hours are counting down until the old year is in the rearview mirror and the new year is born. FRESH STARTS! RESOLUTIONS! CHAMPAGNE AT MIDNIGHT! GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH!

There’s no shame in having big ambitions that may or may not come to fruition. We talk about learning a new language, going back to school, achieving health goals, and making big money, no whammies! We’ve all done the “new year, new me” mantra more times than John McClane has singlehandedly taken out a band of villains, but probably only been half as successful.

Whatever your resolution, they all have one thing in common: the audacious belief that we can plan for the future. That there even will be a future, and if there is, that it is one where enough free will and relative calm exist that we can focus on thriving instead of merely surviving.

Planning ahead requires trust that the future will offer relative stability free from war, famine, disease, violence, and oppression. It’s a beautiful, fragile gift we here in the modern U.S. have had for decades in comparison to the rest of the world and other civilizations throughout history.

Can we have that same confidence as the clock strikes midnight on 2025, and 2026 is ushered in? I’m not so sure. If 2025 taught us anything, it’s that everything can change. Some of us have always known that, and others are still very much in the learning process.

Institutions we held sacred, yet simultaneously took for granted? Gone in an instant with the fine stroke of a pen and blunt crush of a bulldozer’s bucket.

Legal protections written in the blood of our ancestors? Under attack from the very same co-equal branches of government charged with defending them.

2025 was the last-chance wake-up call that American democracy - our democracy - faces its biggest threat not from without, but from within its own borders and its own institutions that for so long, have been the envy of the world. The American Dream. Was it really just a dream, or can it actually be a reality?

I believe it can be a reality. I don’t believe our best days are behind us, and anyone who knows anything about history knows America wasn’t entirely “great” back then, whether you’re talking about 1950 or 1850. We have a messy past made by messy humans, but so does every culture. No one ever got it “right”.

There are highs and lows, victories and defeats, glories and shameful deeds in the history of every nation and people. We are not necessarily doomed by our past, but we must choose to choose better in the present and future.

This nation was entrusted to We, the People “in order to form a more perfect Union.” Yes, we have a legacy of oppression, but we also have a legacy of resistance, rebellion, and resistance. The United States has a Sagittarius rising and if you know anything about strong Sag placements, we can be unapologetic assholes in the best way.

Sure, Aries will cuss in your face and challenge you to “take it outside”, but Sagittarius will do it with sarcasm, a smile, and two raised middle fingers. They’re the OG founders of Camp Fuck Your Feelings and like them or not, they are all about truth and freedom. You can’t fence us in no matter how much of a surveillance state these Project 2025 puppeteers build for their techno broligarch egos.

This nation has been tested time and time and time again. Now, it is this generation’s turn to defend, not defeat, democracy. We have more resources - and more to lose - than any citizenry at any time prior. 2026 will be the year we decide just how much we love our nation and if We, the People are truly willing to do the hard messy work of creating a More Perfect Union. It won't be easy, but being on the right side of history seldom is.

So, knowing full well what lies ahead, I am embracing the rebellion of planning for the future. Yes, the future I have no guarantee of seeing. The future that a bunch of rich incel assholes do not want to exist. The future that is very, very uncertain and relies on the belief that a nation of rebellious assholes will choose freedom over failure, American democracy over the almighty dollar, and solidarity over separation.

It’s a gamble, to be sure. Last year, I had my entire 2025 planned out - content, offers, and so many amazing ideas, but then… yeah. The world and my plans went absolutely sideways. I knew the astrology would be some of the most challenging of my lifetime, but I was still determined to push forward even though everything said it would be a year of instability and overwhelm. LOL, it was certainly that!

That planning was not for naught. I’ve gone back and reworked some concepts, recommitted to others, and renewed my focus on disrupting Money Culture and the plethora of inequities it creates. Do I have another ambitious year planned? Yes. Will it all come to pass? We’ll see, but I am setting the intention that 2026 will be even better than I could have imagined.

I’m not here to tell you how the future will play out, only to offer that we have the possibility and power to actually make it great. Not great “again”. Not the "great" that only worked for a select few while everyone else struggled. We can carry forward what worked and change what didn’t. That will mean compromise, but not in the bullshit dehumanizing “three-fifths” way. It will take the effort of the entire collective. No one gets to sit out. No one gets a pass.

Will you be part of that rebellion? We’ve got a few easy ways to get started. You can join us for Planifesting 2026 on January 14, where we’ll take an honest look back at 2025 and what needs to change before looking ahead to how we can work with the energies of 2026.

This is not an “OMG, MAKE 2026 THE BEST YEAR EVER!!!” kind of class. It’s relaxed, fun, and focused on building a foundation in the first quarter of the year that you can repeat and adapt as the year goes on. We leave room for real life.

And because we all need some extra support, tickets are now 2-for-1, so use the buddy system to get the year off to a good start!

I look forward to seeing your there. I also look forward to seeing our Patreon community grow and empower its members, having folks find their focus and empowerment through a Resource Toolbox Tarot Reading or taking the leap to join Arcana Resource Coaching. I look forward to seeing new and familiar faces at one of our monthly classes on financial literacy and historical astrology. I look forward to watching folks harness the power of the Sun at our Solar Resource Forecast Workshops. I look forward to the many new offerings and opportunities that have yet to be revealed.

Most of all, I look forward to taking back 2026 from the greedy little manbaby hands of the authoritarian assholes that have usurped and abused power for far too long. This is the year they will learn about boundaries and that "NO" is a full sentence.

No to authoritarianism.

No to surveillance state.

No to Money Culture.

No to the techno broligarch takeover.

So mote it be and so it is. See you in 2026.
